Dear Mister Dario ,

I want to send you this mail in order to tell you how pleased we were with our second trip to thiopië. Last year we were also very pleased and we have to thank this to Greenland and of course to our drivers . I think specially about Teferi Zeleki Kidane who guided us through the South of Ethiopia .He is a very clever and skilled driver / guide .He knows a lot about his country and that is what make his guiding so full of interest. He never took twice the same road in order to show us still more of his beautifull country. We appreciated him also as a very good and attentioned man (especially when my brother was ill) .

I want to recommend him to all your customers.

My best greetings from Belgium ,

 Maurice Maréchal.

Dear sir or madam,

We had a tour for 23 days in Ethiopia with Dawit Grima. Booked by Shoestring.
We have seen lot of the world, like Thailand, Iceland, Vietnam and Cost-Rica, and many more. But we never had a tour guide like him. He was wonderful, always happy and he know a lot of the country. He showed us the real Ethiopia. For example We went to the disco in Addis and the city tour with the tjoek tjoek. As well we tasted real Ethiopia food with him.

It was a journey that we will never for get!!

Yours sincerely,

Hi,

Now that we have all returned to our daily lives back in Houston, I wanted to take a few moments to write in support of our Green Land guide, Addisu Engeda. We had a wonderful time on our tour of the northern historic route, and Addis was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable about all the locations we visited -- Addis Ababa, Axum, Lalibela, Gondar, and Bahir Dar.

We appreciated the efforts involved in allowing our group to have VIP access to Timkat.  Addis was always thorough in briefing us about what to expect and how to respect Ethiopian Orthodox traditions, throughout the entire tour.

Addis worked very well with our group leader from the Houston Museum of Natural Science, Dr. Dirk Van Tuerenhout, and with all the local drivers and local guides. Addis made everything effortless for our group -- from standing in line for hours to confirm all our Ethiopian Airline flights to handling the always uncertain local "tipping" process wherever we travelled. We were sorry that there were logistical problems that sometimes prevented Addis from accompanying us on all of our flights. He always managed to catch up with us, however, and he was always in good spirits.

Addis adapted very well to the inevitable changes in our schedule. At the beginning of the trip, he had to readjust our entire schedule in Addis Ababa when the Ministry of Culture and Tourism abruptly changed our meeting time from the morning to the late afternoon. We were still able to squeeze in all of our scheduled activities, in spite of the last minute change.

Addis also dealt very well with adversity. When we were unable to fly from Gondar to Bahir Dar as scheduled, he quickly arranged for transportation by bus. We enjoyed the "road trip" from Gondar to Bahir Dar -- the scenery was spectacular, and we appreciated the chance to see a snapshot of everyday life along the route.

Addis arranged several special events for our group, including coffee ceremonies. We appreciated the special touch! Addis was also sensitive to the needs of our group, and he offered alternatives for those who might not be able to participate in the most rigorous activities, like the mule ride to Ashetan Maryam. He also made sure that everyone had the chance to do what they wanted or needed to do ---- whether it meant a trip to a grocery store to buy Addis tea or a trip to the market to practice bargaining skills.

Addis introduced us to Ethiopia, to its long and fascinating history, and to its warm and friendly people. Far more than a guide, we consider him a good friend. I must also tell you that Addis went above and beyond the call of duty when two of us, Jane Collins and myself, were delayed in our return to the United States after our four-day visit to Tanzania. We finally made it back to Addis Ababa on Saturday evening, but the next flight to Washington, D.C., was not scheduled until Sunday night.

Ethiopian Airlines put us up at the Da Liz Guest House. We telephoned Addis, and the guest house was within walking distance of his apartment. He took us to his church on Sunday morning, to see an Ethiopian Orthodox service, and we stayed to watch an Ethiopian wedding. Later, he invited us both to his apartment for an Ethiopian meal and coffee ceremony, prepared with the assistance of his cousin. We very much appreciated his friendship during the unexpected extension of our tour, and we cannot thank Addis and his cousin enough for their kindness and hospitality!

Please let Addis know that we will be sending him a package from Houston, as a small thank you for his professionalism, for his friendship, and for his kindness. He was such a good friend when we were stranded in Addis Ababa, nervous and worried about our delay in returning home, and we would like to express our profound thanks and appreciation to him.

We wanted to make sure you knew that Addis did a great job with and for our group. He worked tirelessly on our behalf --  and so much longer and harder than our guide in Tanzania! We will always think of him with great affection, and I hope we will see him again someday soon!

P.S. I also wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the Green Land Yemereha Hotel in Lalibela. We especially enjoyed the outdoor Ethiopian meal, with the traditional music and dancers. It was our avorite hotel!

Sincerely,

Gail Larsen Peterkin, Ph.D.

Dear Mr. Dario,
I write to you to thank you for an impressive and amazing time in Ethiopia. Our Group visited your marvellous country from 22.12.08 - 12.01.09 . Towards the south part we were accompanied by the local Guide Dawit Girma and drivers Eyob and Husein. With Eyob I felt always safe.

Dawit (with his really good knowledge of English language) has been a great communicative Guide. He could answer all my questions and even ifI didn't ask he explained me a lot. That was very helpful otherwise I wouldn't have understood what happened around me. He explained the differences between all the various Tribes and has the ability to get in contact with everybody easily. So it was possible to get informations through him from the people who didn't speak English. Even if the situation seems to be hopeless he never lost his temper. We felt desperate because of the fight between Konzo and Diraschi. He reorganised the day and managed to get as fast as possible new informations. His ability to solve problems or to find solutions was important for us his humour as well!

What he promises to do he does, he was always on time and reliable. I don't hesitate to say that he was in some ways more helpful than our German Guide. Hopefully my friends will
go to Ethiopia and have a chance to get to know him.

with kind regards

Dear sir,

We are just back in Holland after a very nice holiday in Ethiopië. Abel was our guide for 23 days and he aksed me and my husband to send you an email about how he did it.
Well, we think he did a great job. Abel is well informed, is a pretty good storyteller and he is nice, enthousiastic and gentle. He let us feel safe and wellcome. And what we
also like about him is that he really likes to learn how he can become even a better guide. We have just one advise: if he is going to ask a little more questions to his guests,
about their expectations, whishes and what they are used to in their own countries, the communication between him and the groups will probably become even more nice.

We would like to thank you, Abel and your company for a terrific trip!

Best regards,

My husband and I took a 9 day tour with Greenland Tours to the rift valley and Omo River areas (Southern Nations and Tribes) in May, 2008.  We want to thank you for the professionalism of your staff, and for the thoroughness of your tour arrangements.  Our guide was Henok Tekle.  He is a knowledgeable and courteous guide who is dedicated  to helping others see and experience the traditional beauty and cultures of Ethiopia.  He was flexible, informative, and always attentive to our needs., and he was sensitive to the concerns of the local villages and people that we visited.  His enthusiasm about each of the varous tribes we visited was contagious.   The accommodations were also fine.  We only wish we had had more time. Please let us know if there anything more that we can do for you.  We got some great photos- but then we expect most visitors do.

Thanks to Greenland to give us Dawit as guide on our journey 5.-28. of November 2008! We just returned from our 3 weeks travel through Ethiopia. We are very impressed by the great history, the outstanding cultural monuments, the beauty of the african scenery and the original life of the tribes in the south. We would like to express our thanks to Dawit Girma, our guide. Dawit is a real ambassador of his country, young and highly motivated, with an exellent knowledge of the Ethiopien history, which he likes to communicate. His work as a guide seems to him not a job, but a hobby. His English is very good and easy to understand by an European. He is intelligent and despite his youth an experienced organiser, especially in difficult circumstances (e.g.: in Addis, the expected Toyota 4WD for our tour to the south was missing. Dawit organized one).

His detailed knowledge of the south was very helpful, because in many respect the discription of the journey was wrong or unprecise. Dawit was always foreward looking, polite, present for us as guests, helpful, friendly and always in a good mood.

Also many thanks to our driver Zerihun Bayissa, who was responsible for our lifes on african roads. He always was very careful, experienced and guaranteed us every day a safe arrival. He knows the african roads and how to handle a 4WD with nervous guests. As a reliable driver he never took any risks and was even after hours of driving full concentrated. He was always friendly, helpful and as Dawit in a good mood.

Kind regard to Greenland and Mister Dario, Barbara & Dieter Grubitzsch.

Buongiorno Dario,

Cordialmente,
Miriam Dieghi e Claudio Pozzi

Hi Dario,

Thanks for your email.

I wanted to tell you that I have just received the tour questionnaires back from John Richardson & Li Yng Huang (the FIT to the Omo that you arranged for us) and they said that they had a fantastic trip in Ethiopia and were very happy with all the services they received.

So thank you very much for that and please know that all your assistance, especially with Li Yng's visa was most appreciated and will not be forgotten.

Dear Dario,

I would like to express my highest contentedness with our guide Dawit Girma, who accompanied us during our filming for German Television in Ethiopia last week. It is very rare to find such a distinct comprehension for our very special needs like Dawit had from the first moment on. He is apace, clever, entertaining and absolute reliably in his job, has excellent acquaintance as well with the local people as with the clients. We felt safe and very well looked after through our whole trip - and he made a lot of things possible that would not have worked out without him.  Thank you very much for this brilliant support for our work.

I was amazed by his extensive knowledge and his diction according to his young age - and I´m sure he will have a great career in this business. I only can suggest your company whenever there is a filmteam in Ethiopia - send them with Dawit - you will make the work of our colleagues  a lot more easy and successful - plus he is a aureate representative for your country.

I wish Dawit Girma and Greenland Travel a wonderful and prosperous future, thank you very much again,

Dear Dario,
I just wanted to let you know, that the group is back - safe - and even Mr. Miller is doing fine. It was a great experience and I have to congratulate to such a excellent organization!  As Greeland was very generous and Habte very professional you have given a great impression about your company. Everyone noted how "big" Greenland in Ethiopia is, I am quite sure that the T.O. will start selling!

Again - Thanks a lot!

Dear Sir,
We, 12 people from a Dutch Group, have been travelling in your country from April 27 until May 10. Our trip was organised by Rosetta, Nijmegen, Holland and your travel-agency. We want you to know we had a very good trip. Not only because we like your country very much, but also because of your people.

We felt safe in the bus, the driver was very friendly and helpful and so was his assistant. But especially your guide, Sisay Takele, was wonderful. He knew very much and told us a lot about your country, its history and its people. Two times he solved some problems with a hotel in a very good way. When we noticed the bad sanitary of the Debark hotel, he explained there was no alternative. When necessary he arranged common meals. When the group had a special wish he arranged all possible things, and he assisted in communication with local people.

The way he solved some problems was great. Three examples:

Some luggage was missed when we arrived in Addis, he did everything to find it and to have it delivered as soon as possible.

One lady had a problem with walking on steep hills, he arranged assistance when and where she needed it.

Another lady felt ill for two days, he noticed it and provided what she needed when she needed it.

We want you to know that we will advise Rosetta and everyone who wants to visit your country to ask for your agency and especially for him.

With regards,

Last month I e-mailed several tour operators to finalize the travel itinerary and budget for the 411's Millenium Project documentary crew : Through Children's Eyes: Ethiopia. Working with Dario Morello, CEO of Green Land Tours was a wonderful experience, second to none.

Expertise
From one e-mail Dario estimated the many requirements of the crew and suggested revisions to the itinerary. Dario was able to anticipate the needs of the crew and quickly customized the ideal package for the project; his tremendous knowledge of the business and his experience in dealing with diverse groups and individuals was obvious.

Promptness
Dario professionally responded to every e-mail and question we had within hours – day or night, including on Sunday, his only day off! What service!!. A rarity in any industry.

Pricing
From the start, Dario quoted us his best rates; having browsed various sites already, I had no doubts that we got a great deal! Since Green Land owns lodging throughout Ethiopia , there was no middle-man to go through for cost. Not having to negotiate on pricing made the experience even greater!

Finally
I have obviously become a fan of Green Land Tours through this fantastic experience. I have already talked to Dario about arranging a historical tour for our next family vacation to Ethiopia!!

I don't have words for all support and arrangements done to us. On behalf of the group I would like to take the Liberty to appreciate for everything done to us. All of us are impressed and have enjoyed the trip deeply. But we do also regret for less attendee due to last minute operational constraint which call few of our group to remain behind. Anyways it is ideal and need to spend more time in the premises to enjoy the facility in full. Please appreciate all your Langano staff and the driver who took us to the site as they have a big part for our enjoyment and satisfaction. I will call you later in the afternoon just to say thank you.
